💧 Dallas Drip - April 14th

Good afternoon, let’s get a quick look at the week ahead.

Dallas is fully awake — the sun’s out and the Mavs are heading to the play-in. We’ve got recs, events, and more.

☀️ Weather

Plenty of sunshine to start the week with highs in the mid-80s, but keep an umbrella handy — storms roll in by the weekend.

🏆 Sports Recap

  • Dallas Mavericks: The Mavs lost 97–132 Raptors on Sunday. They’ll face the Kings at 9pm on Wednesday in the play-in tournament. They need to beat the Kings and then beat the winner of the Warriors/Grizzlies to advance to the playoffs. Thanks Nico!

  • Dallas Stars: The Stars lost 3–5 to the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday, extending their losing streak to five games. Utah capitalized on all four power-play opportunities, while Dallas had a potential goal overturned due to goaltender interference.

  • Texas Rangers: The Texas Rangers fell 3–1 to the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep by Seattle. Dustin Harris provided the lone highlight for Texas with a solo homer in the second inning, while starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed three runs over five innings. The loss drops the Rangers to 9–7 on the season.

  • FC Dallas: FC Dallas lost 0–1 to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. Danny Musovski scored in the 17th minute, and the Sounders' defense held firm to secure the win.

🌮 Where to Eat Next

Hurtado’s Barbecue

Hurtado’s Barbecue just opened up a new location at the Dallas Farmers Market!

Their menu offers Texas-style barbecue with a Tex-Mex twist. It features the classics like brisket, pork ribs, sausage and turkey breast, complemented by innovative dishes like brisket elote and birria tacos.

The atmosphere is great, with skyline views from the patio area.

We’ve been (too many times to admit) since it opened, and highly recommend trying it out next time your in the downtown/farmers market area!

🤔 Dallas Fast Fact

Dallas has more restaurants per capita than New York City — it’s a food lover’s paradise with over 12,000 spots to explore.

No matter what you’re craving — tacos, sushi, barbecue, or a $4 happy hour cocktail — there’s always a new spot to check out just around the corner.
